My Top 5 Destinations in Asia (outside Thailand)…

It’s hard to just pick 5 from the many-many cool spots in Asia that we have already been!!! But here’s the top 5 based on my travels.

I knew it!!!

I knew that “Maldives” will be my No.1 even before I went, and now after my trip I can finally confirm that Maldives is the best trip of my life!

My review is based on visiting the Maldives and staying at Lily Beach Resort & Spa, Water Villa (the all-inclusive package).

Honestly, it’s a lot of money for a vacation but it’s worth it every single penny!!!

#2 Angkor Wat  #3 Great Wall #4 Halong Bay  #5 Kathmandu

As I told you that it’s hard for me to pick and range them in 5, some of them are really close to be the same range! And once I could remember the other trips, it made me feel bad becuase it can be one of my top 5…

#1 Maldives

My review is based on visiting the Maldives and staying at Lily Beach Resort & Spa, Water Villa (the all-inclusive package). Honestly, it’s a lot of money for a vacation but it’s worth it every single penny!!!
“I kept saying this is a haven on earth”
I might try a different resort for my next visit, but I’m just scared that I may NOT get the level of service that we got from the Lily resort. We felt completely satatisfy with Lily Beach Resort & Spa and I just wanted to see if they are all that good.
Maldives is about a 4 hours flight from Bangkok to the Male Airport. No Visa required for Thai. Read more (soon…)

#2 Angkor Wat (Cambodia)

Angkor Wat is a Must See for everyone. I’ve been there twice, and I like it more every time I visit. The Temple is very grand with a high “wow” factor.
It’s just amazing how they made this temple in the past without machines, cranes, etc but they made the temple perfectly!
Also, the Ta Prohm temple is really cool, this is the one that you will see many big trees and big roots over and into the temple. This temple is well-known as the “Jungle Temple”, and made famouse in the movie by Angelina Jolie called Tomb Raiders.
Angkor is in Siam Riep which is about 1.5hrs flight from Bangkok, No visa required for short visit! Read more

 #3 Great Wall (China)

The Great Wall of China, it’s one of the 7 wonders of the world! The entire wall is 13,171 miles and it’s more than 2,500 years old!!!
It’s so amazing, huge, and long, from the top all you can see is the great wall which stretches out in the distance like it never ends.

From Beijing the Great Wall is about 2.5-3 hrs away from the city. On the way to The Great Wall, you can visit Ming Tomb where it’s literally “13 tombs of the Ming Dynasty”. China contains many the great things to see in the country, and it’s about a 5hrs flight from Bangkok. Read more…

#4 Halong Bay (Vietnam)

To get to Halong Bay you have to have a long ride from Hanoi (about 2 hours). It was a very boring ride but once you get in the cruise, you will forget about that part.
Halong Bay is a really beautiful bay. I stayed on the cruise “Emotion“, all the staff were so warm and welcoming to all the guests.
I was there in 2010 (before I started my blog), and I still remember how bautiful it is.
If they have direct flights from Bangkok to Halong Bay, I would go again and again! But for now, you have to fly to Hanoi which is about 2 hrs away from Bangkok. Read more

#5 Kathmandu (Napal)

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. Napal or Napeli people speak Nepali language and about 80% of Napalis practice Hinduism. Life in Kathmandu is a little slow but colorful. I enjoyed the market streets at night, flying over Himalaya Mountains, and visiting the old cities near Kathmandu.

The hand crafted items here are very unique and reasonably priced. It was great learning a new culture, it’s like a different world even though we are so close. Kathmandu is only 2 hrs flight from Bangkok.  Read more

Well, you will feel the same thing if you do travel and enjoy the trip. Find out more about my trips in Asia (most of them now in South East Asia),  Read more
