The abstract Sculpture park is a nice walk, but continuing to the lighthouse gives you a great view!
Yangji Rock Sculpture Park (양지암등대) is 5 mins drive from Jangseungpo port (장승포동), 10-15 mins away from Okpo.
There are 2 sections to this trail, one is the Sculpture park and the next is the Lighthouse.
The sculpture park is good for any ages, elderly and wheelchair friendly. But the Lighthouse is a longer walk and more work!
For just the sculpture park it is about 1.3-1.5 km walk, to continue to the Lighthouse it’s another 1.5km walk.
The round trip would be about 5.5 -6.0 km, it’s a long walk but not difficult and it’s quite safe.
At the Sculpture park, they grow tulips and all the tulips will start to bloom in March until May (depends on the weather as well). That’s about the same time for cherry blossom in South Korea.
My first visit with Marta in February, she knew this park very well. We came here on one of the coldest days in Geoje (-3’c), no flowers yet, but still nice.
The Sculpture is quite different than what I thought, they are more like abstract arts ..very interesting!
There are not a lot of sculptures in the park, so don’t expect them too many!
***Clean bathrooms inside the park.
Then we just kept walking to the Lighthouse, it’s a very nice trail – you don’t need hiking sticks.
We can see the village and other lighthouses, maybe it’s good to visit during the warmer days!
We kept walking through the park, some people drive the car up here but there are only a few spots you can park (along the road).
And if you see some fence, it’s just because the military base (군사작전과) is here.
Just keep out of the wire fence!
And keep walking…
Until you see the lighthouse in front of you!
The Lighthouse is very high, Marta was afraid of heights, so I went up there by myself.
Behind the lighthouse, there is a great little walkway over the ocean for a great view!

I didn’t try to go up to the lighthouse – it looks unsafe to try alone (nobody up there today!)
Nice view, you can see the Busan-Geoje Bridge from here!
Then we walked back the exactly the way we came, our roundtrip today is about 5.5km.
There is another way to walk called “Forest Park”, we didn’t try today (it’s cold!)
So it’s a nice day trip to walk with family, friends.
Yangjiam is also good for kids, elderly and disability (only in the Sculpture park area) & Good Idea for Sunrise and Sunset view in Geoje Island!
