THAI: สวนพืชผักไทยและเทศฯ at 8449 BREEN ROAD, HOUSTON, TX 77064
I followed a facebook post that said this nursery has THAI HOLY BASIL!!! So we went there the 2nd week of April 2023, it’s about an hour away from our house.
When we arrived, we saw a couple customers like us, but we couldn’t find the owner or workers. We were walking around and round and we can’t find the THAI HOLY BASILS that we were looking for. THERE WERE NO SIGNS FOR PRICES ON ANYTHING!!!
It’s ankward…we were looking everywhere to find someone who we can ask for a price!
Minutesssss later, one guy stopped by and told my husband that he will get A THAI person to talk to me. I felt , OH GREAT! So I can ask him/her for what I’m looking for.
That guy went to another gate and disappeared for minutesssssss. Then a THAI GUY walked thru the gate, and he speaks more English than Thai!!!
He told me that he is the owner here and he’s been here for decades!
Unfortunately, the THAI HOLY BASIL that we were looking for was sold out last week, DANG!
So we got GRAPEFRUIT, PERSIMMON, PAPAYA and 2 pots of THAI CHILI, for a total of $195 ….
I can feel the plants or trees we got from his nursery look very healthy. But I didn’t feel comfortable to shop without seeing its price, I don’t think I like to keep asking him how much for this, for that and that, that, that, that????
The nursery has a lot of tropical fruit trees/flowers – we would like to come back again if we live closer!
In the same road that GPS took us to the Thai Nursery. There is a Vietnames Nursery nearby, it’s called FAIRBANKS GARDEN CENTER at 9706 Fairbanks North Houston Rd, Houston, TX 77064
I tended to like this nursery better than the last one, just because all the plants have signs for prices.
The plant that I wanted to get today, it’s at the same price in both Nuseries, even I could remember it’s bigger and healthier in the Thai Nursery but I bought it from the Vietnames nursery because they are priced! Technically, I’m feeling better to see the price on it…
I’m really happy to buy Jalapeño from the Vietnamese nursery, it’s already producing so many Jalapeño, and it’s only $6.99!!!
I can’t tell which nursery I like the best but they are very close to each other, it’s good to visit both of them in the same time.
For us, it’s 2 hrs for our trip to get there and back. But if we drive past them again, we’re sure to stop…
